My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that to be a teacher, you need a passion for learning. We get to motivate, and shape these kids into who they will become, helping them discover things about themselves, and things about the world around them. In my point of view the best teachers were always heroes to me, and the best heroes are leaders. Teaching is tough, you have a room full of students who are all different, and who are going to have their negative days. You just have to keep going. Sparking a fire in students, to be willing to learn and try new things, is not an easy task, but it is possible and I hope I can learn how to make that happen. Many great teachers, have skills that I want to learn from, and use one day. By being a teacher you have to capability to change the world. Every single student in the classroom holds the future in them, and great teachers can inspire them to do great things with it. They are an inspiration, keeping kids excited about learning, and ready for the challenges, opens up the windows to the world for them.
I believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment in my classroom, a community between each other based off of mutual respect. There are several racial, cultural, socioeconomic class, religion, and geographical backgrounds in the classroom of schools and I am very welcoming all kinds of students. I believe that all students need a safe atmosphere and environment to learn in as well as be comfortable to be themselves. I want them to feel that acceptance in my classroom with me, and my peers. I would like my classroom to be a place where students can learn and grow without the fear of failure or being judged and rejected. My classroom will be a comfortable place where their diversities and difference will be accepted and celebrated.
I believe in the importance of a students voice, and the classroom setting being a place of mutual respect between the students and the teacher. I would love my students to be able to express themselves and who they are. I want to be very open minded and accepting towards all ideas and personalities, and I would like my students to know this. Being able to share thoughts and ideas together to make our classroom the best community it can be.
I am a life long learner, and I absolutely love knowledge. It can get you to so many places and I would love to teach my students to think along the same lines and believe in the power or knowledge.
